Ford issued a recall last week for 330,784, 2015-2017 model year Mustangs with potential backup camera issues. The issues can cause the camera to go blank altogether, or to distort the image so that it is difficult to view obstacles that could be behind the vehicle.Dealers will inspect and then subsequently repair the deck lid wiring harness and replace the defective rearview camera in an affected vehicle, for free. Owners will first receive a letter via U.S. mail notifying them of the safety risk starting March 7. Once a fix is available, owners will receive a second letter advising a trip back to the dealer.

I brought my 2017 Mustang Convertible V6 in for the recall and Ford said the wiring was not damaged and camera is working but installed a support stick per recall. What is that? There is nothing about a support stick on the recall notice. My backup camera works intermittently now since they installed that support stick and are saying the camera working intermittently has nothing to do with the recall and trying to get me to make a warranty claim. The camera not working most certainly does have to do with the recall. The inspection of the wiring harness messed up my camera. I want it fixed per the recall.
