The latest Honda recall involves vehicles with defective hood strikes, a rubber seal meant to prevent airflow and reduce vibration between the hood and upper grille. The issue causes an improper seal between the grille and hood, which can, when driving on the highway, cause the seal to crack, impacting closure. If the damage is bad enough, the hood can fly open while the vehicle is in motion.
Approximately 725,000 vehicles were affected, including 2019 Honda Passport SUVs, 2016-2019 Honda Pilot SUVs and 2017-20 Honda Ridgeline pickup trucks.Owners of affected vehicles will be notified by mail beginning January 17th 2022.
