Did you buy a 2019 Subaru Impreza, Legacy, Ascent or Outback and have issues with stalling out? Subaru has recalled more than 188,000 Impreza sedans and hatchbacks, Outback wagons, Legacy sedans, and Ascent SUV’s for faulty fuel pumps which could cause stalling while the car is moving, a very serious safety hazard that should be addressed immediately.

Symptoms of this defect are unusually loud noises, rough rattling of the vehicle, issues in starting the vehicle and a check engine light may or may not illuminate signaling there is an issue.

Specific details regarding affected vehicles:

– 2019 Subaru Impreza hatchbacks and sedans manufactured from June 18, 2018, through Feb. 25, 2019
– 2019 Subaru Outback wagons and Legacy sedans manufactured from June 29, 2018, through Feb. 19, 2019
– 2019 Subaru Ascent SUVs manufactured from June 26, 2018, through Feb. 18, 2019

Dealer Fix

Beginning June 5th 2020,  Subaru dealers will replace the faulty fuel pump at no charge, with a newly redesigned pump
